All aged 22, 5 of us, all getting started in our careers and having these discussions recently. Would be in a central location with one living in that city already and farthest trip for any of us is 2.5 hours.
Would focus around the 150k range or less. Mortgage rate would be ~3 or less for area and my credit score with 20% down, and could be even better as one of us has served in the military.
Pros: Easier maintenance, smaller investment, quickest time frame to buy a home, possible location for one of us to live in, possible rental location
Cons: threat of group dissolving (unlikely, we are very close and have been for 8+ years with some of us being friends since Pre-K, but gotta include), cheaper home issues like upkeep frequency and increase in investments down the line, first time home owners,
It isn’t a sure thing of course. But would love to hear if I am overlooking any aspects of this.
