I'm certain I'm not the only person who has gone through this, I'm curious what others have done....I'm leaving my job for another company. While I will never be unemployed (i.e. leaving company Friday and starting with new company Monday), I will have a gap in my health insurance. My current insurance ends the day that I leave and the new insurance doesn't kick in for 30 days, thus leaving a gap in coverage. My current company allows me to extend my insurance but I have to pay their part as well, so it's really expensive. Also, I live in NJ and it seems that the state does not allow the purchase of short term/gap insurance plans. I think I only have the two options of extending the current plan or going with no insurance for a month, and the latter I can pretty much rule out. I'm just curious what others have done in this situation. Thanks for the input.
