I need some career advice.

There's a very good chance that my boss will be quitting in the coming months. This will leave a vacancy in the company that will take several months to fill. The company has had a lot of turnover lately; in the last four years, about half the team has left for another company. When someone leaves, their workload is redistributed to the other team members. This invariably causes a lot of stress for the remaining members.

Would it be out of line to ask for a raise and/or bonus once the extra work is distributed? The pay/bonuses have been stagnant for the past few years and I'm not getting the growth opportunities I was promised when hired. I probably won't stay at this job for more than a year; once my wife graduates and finds a job, I'll begin the search for another job.

Any advice is appreciated.
