After being involved in an at fault accident last year I decided it was time to go over all of my coverage and make changes. I now realize that my coverage was too low. I was carrying more than the state minimum, but still way too low. I was fortunate to have accident forgiveness, but also realized I needed to take action as I live and drive in an area that has accidents all day every day. Do these coverage choices look adequate?
Comp/Collision: $1000 deductible.
I will not be filing any claims unless needed for something major since my accident forgiveness allowed me to keep my rates from going up and allowed me to keep all of my good driver discounts. I have funds if needed to cover the deductible.
Uninsured/Underinsured property damage: $0 I declined this since I’m paying for collision coverage already.
Liability: 100/300/100 I previously only had 50/100/50
Uninsured/Underinsured bodily injury: Same as liability limits
Personal Injury Protection: $5,000
Rental reimbursement also selected.
