I took a trip with JetBlue a few weeks ago with my mom. We paid $9.00 each to hand pick our seat assignments. She likes window I like aisle. We chose 30A and 30C because mom likes to be in the back.

When we arrived at the gate our seats were switched to 6A and 6B. So window and center. I thought it might be an upgrade so I didn't complain. JetBlue has "Even More Room" seats in the front. But no such luck. They were just standard seats.

I tried calling JetBlue to request a refund but the hold time was 19 hours! I'm not joking. I tried to reach them through online chat but you have to have an iPhone and I'm Android. I ended up emailing them. I was assigned a case number and told someone would get back to me in 2 weeks. It's been a good 3 weeks and haven't heard anything. I've even checked my spam folder and nothing.

So what options do I have? I received my credit card statement and I'm thinking about a charge back but googled and learned that you should only do that as a last resort. It's costly for the merchant etc. But I don't know what else to do.

Any suggestions? I thought about posting this on personal finance but I'm afraid they'll just chuckle at pursuing such a paltry sum.
