I feel like my life is crashing down on me and I'm way too young to have to deal with this. Basically my parent had a business with Amazon that I helped with because she had health issues. I never officially got "paychecks" but I got paid usually in person or on occasion sent to my bank account. Because her business required her to go to residences in person, obviously it was forced to close down because of COVID. I live in Texas where we have Pandemic Unemployment Assistance. At first I brought up my concerns saying that I don't think her business would count since I never had official pay checks and I haven't really worked outside of that. Well our landlord raised our rent, we were struggling to keep afloat so she convinced me to sign up. So I did last June. It helped alot, everything went to food, rent and racked up bills. But now a year later they asked for proof of employments. She called them to ask since I worked for her what information she needed to provide. They said it didn't work that way, that it was ME that had to have been running the business or MY name that was affiliated. And now I have to pay back 23k in debt at only 18.

Mind you I'm 18, I have no highschool diploma because my family moved yearly and i couldn't take it anymore, developed severe depression and anxiety. The plan was to get my GED or HISET and take my ACT to go to college and move out by next February. Now I'm sitting here with 23k in debt that I have to pay for when I can't even get a job where I live..I'm dumbfounded. It's actually hilarious how quickly things went bad. These years are supposed to be some of the best in my life but I'm more stressed than anything. I don't even have a licence yet. What do I even do in this situation??
