I'm currently in the fortunate position where I'm still living at home with no rent, have almost paid off my college tuition entirely and have no debts on my car or anything else, with 12K in savings spread across bank accounts/investments in stocks.
I've been working full-time in a tech job for 6 months now, and I'm miserable, grossly underpaid, stressed and anxious. I've been thinking about doing my own business 4 days a week working from home for a while, but I wasn't sure how feasible this would be and if I would stay productive working from home. Well recently I did a couple weeks working from home and my mental health improved quite a bit, without a commute/getting ready for work I was saving a full work day every week, and I was actually MORE productive than ever surprisingly.
The experience has pretty much confirmed for me that I want to work from home 4 days a week, ideally pursuing my own entrepreneurial endeavours. Whilst my bills are minimal and I have a comfortable amount of savings, I'm worried if this doesn't work out I could be stuck without a job as I've seen others spend a year struggling to find work, and since this is my first full-time job with only 6 months of experience, I wonder if this is enough, or if I do need to apply for jobs again, if I'd basically be screwing myself.
I think the risk is minimised while I'm still at home without any real debt, but obviously that doesn't mean there's no risk. I would love your thoughts/opinions/advice/experience.
