A family member of mine is in the midst of some personal/financial struggles. They quit their job in March, lost their apartment in June and have roughly $20K in credit card debt. They are also having some issues with drugs/alcohol so I’m not sure how realistic a quick turn around is (getting a new job/finding a new apt, etc)
As of right now they are still current on all credit card debt and their car lease. But I anticipate that changing over the next 1-2 months. Would this be a situation that one should consider bankruptcy? Before falling behind on all bills?
Current mindset of this family member is that they’re going to live out of their car and “travel”, no interest in finding a new job at the moment.
