Truth is, not many kids are interested in taxes, savings, interest, credit cards, financial aid, CDs, etc, because it doesn’t really impact them until they reach adulthood and reality slaps them in the face. Which is why they should at least have a class requiring them to actually pay attention and learn a thing or two.
I was clueless after high school, and it bit me in the ass. I went into debt immediately because I didn’t know what type of student loans best fit my situation.
I’m 27 and if it weren’t for the internet and subreddits like these, I’d still be in the dark not knowing wtf I’m doing.
And I know I’m not the only one in that position at the moment.
Edit: Okay, okay, so maybe not every student would take this class seriously. But, like any class, there are some kids who would.
