I've been taking a couple of frozen bottles of sports-drinks to work in this hot weather. I put them in a small plastic open bin (4" x 7" x 4", with a 2"-tall frontside), wrapped in two plastic grocery bags and mostly covered with a thin cotton rag. Even though the bin sweats like-crazy, this set-up has been keeping them cold for twice as long as my little soft cooler.
I'm wondering if it would be worth it if the electricity were out to quickly double- or triple-bag what's in the freezer. (I've always been told to never open the freezer.)
