Hi, I’ll start off by saying my username checks out. I was crushed by a howitzer back in 2015, and live with many medical issues from the accident. I’m currently living off a hospital bed in my house, on oxygen, and in a wheel chair.

I feel like I’m at my breaking point and I’m not sure what to do.

I qualify for SSI Disability, but I can’t afford to not work long enough for disability to go through.

I’m currently working in a high stress, high risk/reward, and very time consuming job (80 + hours a week)

I physically and mentally can’t keep up with the demands of my employer, I want to find a less stressful and mentally challenging job, that ends after I clock out instead of 24/7 like I currently work.

I am the major bread winner for my household, but I’m desperate to quit as I just can’t handle it and my health anymore.

What are my options to find either a less stressful/ more relaxed employment option that I can do from my house,

And how can I afford to go months possibly years without employment to get SSI Disability?

Another side note, I have multiple home therapy appointments each week that take up some of my time, and due to my issues I will sometimes have to take entire days off to rest & recover.

My wife works a part time job so that she can help take care of our son, we don’t have child care or close relatives that can help out in this regard.

All advice is greatly appreciated Thank you
