Since I'm a recent college graduate, I've been thinking about affordable phones and service plans when I eventually move out someday.
After thinking about alternative phones and service plans, I decided that owning a slider phone (with a keyboard) and a tablet or smartphone without a data plan (WiFi only) would be better than owning a smartphone with a data plan. Furthermore, I created a list of why my decision may benefit me in the long run:
One: Cheaper smartphones usually have less GB/memory than more expensive smartphones, even though I can buy an additional SIM card for extra memory
Two: Slider phones are usually cheaper than smartphones, even though similarly priced smartphones deal with the same issue listed above
Three: Since regular cell phones don't have tablet/smartphone applications, I can still use them without a data plan (WiFi only)
Four: Since regular cell phones usually last longer than smartphones, I won't have to upgrade every 2-3 years
