Hello all! The title says it all, I am a medical student and I have unilateral hearing loss. I dont have any other chronic health conditions, but I lost my hearing in one ear due to a childhood illness. Our school provides us with long term disability as well as short term, and I was notified that I was denied benefits because of my condition.
One of the first things I want to do in residency is get good long term disability insurance. Does anyone here have any suggestions on how to go about doing this? Will I just be denied everywhere because of something I cant control? Thank you so much!
