I was on my tablet (not signed into my amazon prime account) when I was searching for some things on amazon. I found what I wanted and then headed over to my desktop where my account is always signed in. But upon searching for the item with my logged in account, I couldn't find it for the same price that I could see it for on my tablet (which is not signed in to an account). I checked the ASIN (amazon ~barcode) and typed that into my desktop and I could see the item but it was listed for $5 more than when I wasn't signed in (Yes it was from the same seller).

I was actually pretty pissed of to see this. Apparently amazon will charge certain people more if they think you will pay more for it. I find this effed up, but whatever. Anyway, instead of signing out of my account I just went into chrome incognito mode and then added the item to my cart (which was now listed 5 dollars cheaper). Once it was in my cart I logged into my account and bought the item at the reduced price.

Anyway, just want to let people know how amazon can charge you more just based on your account and, I presume, how you spend money on amazon. Either log out of your account or use incognito mode and quickly check if the item is less when you are not signed into your account.

It's funny, you would think I would get a BETTER deal because I have been a prime member for almost 8 years. I guess that FREE shipping isn't really free after all. They get ya somehow, someway...
