I do a lot of walking (~45 min/day minimum) and my shoes usually start showing signs of needing replacement within 6 months. By the 2 year mark I'm usually still wearing them even though they look horrible, but there comes a point where they're no longer comfortable to wear and I have to replace them. I hate shoe shopping because I have fat and wide feet and it's a hassle. I also get major holes in my socks very very quickly.

Anyway, recommendations for socks/shoes that will last me several years? I live in the southeastern US and it's very humid and my feet do sweat a lot, so I'm sure thick socks are long lasting but no thank you! My perfect shoe would be water/snow proof with a lot of traction that's fine for walking around in on a daily basis, running, gym, hiking etc. Also something on a white/black/grey or brown scale that can fit with a lot of clothes. Price isn't super important to me if shelling out $100 now will save me $100 over the next few years.
