So long story short. I grew up in a family with money. I always got my Dad's old truck/suv every 4 years when he bought a new one. I lived in one of their houses for free and never had to pay any bills. Right now Im 32 and my credit score is 560. I have tried building my credit but get turned down for literally every single thing I apply for. Gas Card...declined, Department store Card...declined. Low Limit Credit Card...declined. I am a single Nurse and I make around 100-120k a year because I pick up lots over overtime. I know I can afford payments on this stuff but I cant even get approved.
Now Im worried that my 10 year old SUV with 200k miles is wearing out. What if no one will sell me a new vehicle because my credit is so terrible? I can easily afford $500-$700 a month payments but will anyone even sell me a car with my trash score? If my vehicle dies will I just lose my job because I have no way to get to and from work? Or am I just overthinking my situation. I mean isnt actual income in a job that will always be in need better than some made up imaginary number?
