Hey guys, quick question
Last fall I bought a 2012 Nissan Versa for $2,700 to get me to work and such. The car had about 173,000 miles then and now it has 182,000. Anyways, it’s apparent the car was not maintained properly before as both the transmission fluid, engine oil were quite dark when I changed them the first time. I got the engine mounts replaced ~$500, now the timing chain is about to go out which around $1k to fix (several mechanics quoted the same price). Two new tires are needed and basically the suspension (struts, shocks) need to be replaced as well.
Am I better off putting that money towards a new car or should I fix my car and ride it until it dies? I commute about 40 miles daily.
Thanks.
