Hey folks,
Long time reader of this forum, first time poster.
My question is probably answered in another thread etc but I'd like to ask it anway, so here goes...
If I have an index fund that tracks some of the biggest companies in the US (Alphabet, Apple, Amazon, Walmart etc), do I even need to invest in said company's stock?
Keep in mind, I live in Sweden so I don't have access to Vanguard's S&P 500 tracking for example, the closest equivalent we have is an index fund that tracks the 30 largest companies.
The reason I ask is beause most of my portfolio consists of index funds and a few actively managed funds, but I keep hearing that you need to invest in stocks and hold them.
My timeframe is 15-20+ years (probably more than 20 years).
Thanks!
