I recently graduated with an accounting and finance double major in May. After throwing my resume all over, I got overlapping interviews and ultimately, job offers.

Both offers are for a Staff Accountant position (debits and credits). One is in the logistics industry and pays 60K a year with a 4% 401K match. The other is in the Agricultural finance industry and pays 55K a year, 5% 401K and a yearly bonus, though the amount is unknown.

I am currently at the 60K job but it's only my second week and I cannot stand it. The office is drab with no windows to the outside. It's hauntingly pale green everywhere, but worst of all, we use a very outdated software for accounting- IBM's I series otherwise known as AS400.I have spent my first week at the logistics job, and a large portion of the staff stays unreasonably late. Like 8AM to 10PM. Close can undoubtedly make additional hours necessary, but it is needlessly exacerbated by the outdated software, something management has signaled it has no places to change. I dread going to work and the outdated software turns simple takes into complicated messes.

The 55K job still wants me and I am thinking of going to that one because of different factors. First, it is downtown Fort Worth, TX in a tall building with windows that overlook the city. Secondly, they use Netsuite, a modern and user-friendly software that I have experience with due to a previous job.

Am I making the right decision going to the 55K job?
