This may sound like a rant, but just hear me out.

At some point in our lives we realize the importance of properly handling our finances, and many a times by then it is too late. I’m sure most of us have personally known or read about or worse yet - lived - through experiences which could have been avoid for the want of personal finance education. Schools don’t teach personal finance, parents themselves are either too busy or don’t know enough to teach their kids.

Lives ruined by pay day loans, credit card debt, education loans, speculation, entire generations unequipped to retire, etc. It impacts not just individuals but socio-economic fabric of the entire nations across the world.

Sure we’ve found this sub and educators/influencers on YouTube/Podcasts/Books who may have helped us but imagine the leg up the kids today can have if they get this education in school. Hell, they could even teach their clueless parents. Personal Finance is a huge topic yet we leave everyone to just figure it out ourselves.

Schools teach kids languages, math, arts, history, geography, sciences etc. to become a productive member of the society. We can argue Personal Finance is as important a subject.

So the question is why isn’t there a movement to include personal finance education in schools grade/high schools? What can be done to make it so? Do you think it will help?

Thanks for reading. Cheers!
