Hi all,
I’m a warehouse manager and been with my current employer 15 years. Could easily handle the work in my 30s... but have been really struggling the past few years as I reach 50. We’re pretty much a “low tech” operation... and constantly pushing around 2000+ lb pallets is starting to take its toll. I can barely walk after work... and have leg / foot pain all night.
Great employer... but there’s no chance of changing positions or advancement.
I recently inherited $400k in cash / investments. House is paid for and no debt other than car payment / utilities. Single with no kids. Can easily live on $35k a year.
Seriously considering quitting... taking a few months off to address the house and sell some contents... then getting back into the workforce in a less strenuous position.
Crazy idea or ?
