I will try to summarize the best I can.
I am a 17 year old male. I have $6000 cash saved up all mine. Just recently got a job that pays $15 an hour, and I will be working 3 days a week. The original plan was for me to give my parents $2000, to help them pay for my braces that I need. After we agree, they say that they should enroll in a new insurance plan so that they could get an even bigger discount. They make me wait 7 months for the new year to come and finally be enrolled. Fast forward 3 more months, they go to 3 different places and they end up not trusting ANY of the places except one that doesn't accept our insurance. The plan was to get the braces, but my parents keep stretching it and months are just going by so fast.
I am also supposed to be buying their old car, which I need to commute to work. They said it would be $4000 for it, and I'd pay for the insurance, maintenance, etc. At this point I have no money leftover because of braces + car.
Now, after basically a year of waiting, they say that they will only enroll with the orthodontist they trust. (months of waiting to enroll with new insurance were a WASTE). They now basically say that it's either a choice between the car or the braces because they can't afford a NEW car and the huge braces cost.
My whole senior year is ruined because of their horrible decision making and dilly dallying. Over a year wasted, and I'm here with no car, no braces. I'm very sick of them taking their time with everything, and I can't take it anymore I don't trust them with anything else. What do you suggest I do with my $6000? I feel like just taking it all back, buying a car, and paying for my own braces over time.
