To clarify, this is a theoretical due to a situation I'm in. I'm concerned a potential employer may be hiring as "full remote" with plans to force me into the office at a later date.
Context:
I started interviewing with a company that stated the position would be "remote during the pandemic, in-office post-pandemic." But through the interview process I realized there is a decent amount of full remote opportunities right now. So I declined an offer from this company stating that I was going to pursue remote opportunities instead.
They respond to me saying "Wait wait wait... what if we... made your position permanent remote?" Like they just decided on the spot that I will be the 1 remote worker on this team. (In fact they made it sound like they would make the entire company full remote just based on me declining the offer.)
I'm very concerned that if I accept this job and work it for like a year, then they will tell me "Yeah we're going back to the office, you're coming too otherwise find a new job."
