This is completely my unbiased and voluntary endorsement of Geico and I want to share my personal experience. I've just started truly adulting around 2 years ago and living at home and sharing the rent with my family has allowed me to live very comfortably in a high cost of living area. When I dug a bit deeper into our insurance policies and shopping around, I realized my parents were really overpaying for our auto insurance. They paid a pretty high amount and I wondered why they never bothered to shop for a lower rate because they're frugal as well. I used an app called Jerry.ai to lower it by $800 o or so with one of the major insurance providers...I was thinking I really did something by moving us to that. When I randomly decided to shop around to see how much Geico would charge me for auto insurance if I bought a $50k Tesla Model 3. That required me to enter a bunch of details but it let me play around with coverages to see how much I'd pay. After a week or so, I get called by their agent to see if I'm still interested in the insurance and told them I was just shopping around for the rates, but they offered to cover my family's other 3 vehicles which they were able to pull up from their database based on our home address and provided me a quote...They offered to cover our 3 vehicles for ~30% less! Not only that but they brought our home insurance policy down by more than $1000 as well. They mentioned that they're nationwide so their prices for insurance are relatively stable and they won't raise the prices a whole lot as a result every 6 months.
Tldr: Geico saved my family of 4 with 3 cars a significant amount on auto insurance and saved us >$1000 on home insurance. However, don't just go for Geico, but do compare their rates with the Jerry.ai app (or any other insurance comparing tool) as well to see which provider gives you the best rate. You might be thoroughly surprised by how much you're saving as a result of spending a few hours to shop around.
