Disclaimer before anyone starts a fight about the prices I'm listing, I'm in Canada, so our dollar is a bit shittier than yours. Also, my room is pretty big (roughly 15x15 feet + a 4x4 closet) so keep that in mind for my descriptions.

Currently living with my parents, and am in school for the next 3 years or so. I really reeally would love tile flooring, but obviously I'm saving that kinda money for my actual place once I move out. Until then, I'm stuck with carpets all over; unfortunately, messes happen somewhat often

I rented a carpet cleaner maybe under 2 years ago, which did a fantastic job but unfortunately it didn't last that long, and it was fairly expensive too even just as a rental (think it came out to around $55 overall including the shampoo).

I tried carpet-cleaner powders and sprays and just vaccuming up as well in the past (Resolve powder carpet cleaner is bloody amazing btw), but I needed like, 3-4 bottles just to cover my room so it's definitely not financially great

Any frugal-recommendations for carpet cleaning? Realistically I'd have to rent one like, 3x a year if I wanted to maintain clean carpets year round, which just isn't happening. But the $200+ carpet cleaners are definitely a bit out of range and would rather dedicate that kind of money to other expenses. I saw BISSEL little green / BISSEL spot cleaner for around $110-$130 which is what I'm considering the most for cleaning and maintaining my room. The only downside seems to be that I'd have to empty it out a few times to do my entire room, but who cares. And once it's clean it should serve as a easy maintainance device? I think?
