My tax return was accepted on 3/8. On the IRS website, for weeks now, it has said that my return is still processing. I filed via turbo tax. I have a relatively simple and straightforward return. I did have a child in 2020, however, so I was eligible to receive a credit for the stimulus money I did not get last year for said child. Is this possibly the reason for the delay? I have not received any letters or indication from the IRS that something is wrong with my return - at least not yet.
I called once last week and was on hold for awhile. My child needed my attention and I couldn’t wait any longer. Not opposed to calling again, but I’ve read it’s pretty much a waste of time.
Has anyone else found themselves in this situation? Perhaps as similar as having a kid last year and thus also having a long wait? Just curious if I should do anything, or if it’s just a waiting game.
