38 and I have strong budgeting and saving skills. But retirement always seemed so far off but slipping back into poverty so close. I only became eligible to open a retirement account at 30 (due to immigration reasons). After that I started college and was more focused on making it through without debt. Being scared of losing access to my savings - I might have a big emergency - overrode my logical mind and in the process I lost a lot of potential for growth. Anyway just sharing that I've finally taken the plunge. PF has been a great resource. Thanks all and good luck!
