This is my first post here! We’ve been lucky enough that very little car maintenance has to be done by someone else, usually exhaust work or tires. We usually just buy the parts and do it ourselves. The benefits of husband being a former mechanic! Well he really didn’t want to replace the wheel bearing and decided to just this once get some price quotes. Turns out that any shop near us, small local or chain locations, all quoted $500+ for a single wheel bearing. Guess who is doing it ourselves again! For an estimated $120 and a couple hours of work. Definitely seems worth it to DIY when you know how!
