Maybe to some this is a bit trivial, but it’s something I think about all the time. I find it weird when people don’t have rags for cleaning up spills and other messes. Growing up, we always had a stack of rags under the kitchen sink. Spill your drink? Rag easily accessible. Dog slops their water all over the floor? Rag.
Aggressive paper towel marketing is such a turn off and it’s so wasteful. We have a TON of cleaning rags and a lot of them are from cut up old clothing that got too ratty to wear. PT is expensive and if you’re using it all the time you can burn through it pretty quickly. Besides, it’s more environmentally friendly to keep using the same rags over and over. The water you use to wash them is really not a big deal when compared with the resources needed to make new PT.
Not saying paper towel doesn’t have its uses but it seems that so many people have moved away from the more frugal and planet-friendly alternatives.
