Hello my frugal friends. I am an avid veggie gardener, but wanting to cut back on the price of fertilisers and potting mix.

Have done some googling, but they recommend organic fertilisers and the like.

I once saw a video saying grass cuttings was great for nitrogen, but without any detail. Do I need to use it freshly cut? Just mix it in..?

Other ideas? Have set up a notification on fb marketplace for free rabbit or chicken poop / straw.

Am hoping to revitalise all my pots this winter, and maybe repot my fruit trees come spring.

Might also post in the gardening reddit.
