So I just got approved for my own apartment and my move in date is May 1. 10 years ago, I had an apartment with an ex and we ended up breaking the lease due to her cheating and dumping me, and I was laid off shortly after...due to my lack of money at the time, I never paid my final month’s utility bill with NV Energy. Shortly after I moved back home, had roommates, never had any utilities in my name other than my cell phone
Fast forward to 2021, and I’m on the verge of moving into my own apartment by myself. I’m now in my early 30s and making good money, around $48k a year. Should I be worried that the electric company is gonna ream me with a huge deposit, will they ask for the old balance back?
I have the money to pay whatever it is they ask. But I’m just curious
