Hello about a month ago I was fired from a job. I took time off for a family emergency and was fired for doing so. The company I worked for had no substitute for my position after promising for 2 years they would get one. After being fired I filed for unemployment in hope to hold me over while I find a Suitable job. My unemployment was granted and I just received my first check this past week. It turns out they have been having a hard time filling the position I was fired from, and today I received a message asking me to return. As I understand it the woman who took over the position while they looked for a new person had a family emergency and had to leave right away.. this job I worked at and was fired from was a horrible work environment and I am finally moving forward with my life and looking for better employment opportunities. My question is due to unemployment benefits am I obligated to return to this company even though I was fired and deemed as unfit for the position?
