In March 2020, I lost my job, of course due to COVID. I applied for unemployment, was accepted, but my money was being held up due to a verification issue. This lasted months. With no true income, just going off my savings, I had to basically choose between rent or my car payment. Obviously I chose the roof over my head. I missed 4 car payments by the time I could pay it again (when my unemployment $ finally came through) and I understand this is the reason my credit dropped so low. The delinquency. I’m only 20 years old, I worked my butt off to get to a pretty good score of 725. I have $5k remaining on my car payment, and 3 credit cards, one with $0 balance, one almost with $0 balance, and my discover card has $4k balance. Am I screwed? I got ahold of my credit union where I have my car loan, and they said there’s nothing they can do about the derogatory marks. What can I do to get my score up? Thank you!
