Hi all,

I am currently very interested investing and am currently pursuing a degree in finance. I have invested in 8 stocks or so the past year (Penn, Southwest, Roku, Uber, being the most heavily invested in), essentially doubling my returns as I'm sure most have in this economy. However, through listening to Jack Bogle and reading his works (among other proponents of index funds like Warren Buffett), I am currently only investing in low-cost index funds. I get a $370 paycheck a week after taxes, I keep $80, invest $170-$200, and 25% goes into my Roth and 4% into my 401k because of my employer match (paycheck and mood depends week to week but I have been within this range the past several months with about a 90% confidence rate).

For the past several months, all of my money has been in Vanguard ETFs, due to their reputation and my affinity for Jack Bogle. And do they do have, albeit negligible, better performance and tax differences compared to other low-cost, low turnover ETFs (I am talking about total market/S and P 500 indices with 4% turnover and .03% expense ratios for both companies for example) . However, I am no longer investing with them. Schwab offers the same products and results, though the performance may be perhaps may be ever so slightly lower (though I don't have the numbers, one can look for themselves and ascertain this conclusion), however low enough for me not to worry about it (and I care about money). How Schwab makes up for it, is lower prices ($300 vs $70 for an index fund), and I can purchase partial shares. This makes my week to week investing strategy much easier (I am not interested in allocating money at this moment and prefer to invest consistently rather than try to time the market). So now, I will invest with Schwab.

I know price doesn't matter relative to performance.

I hope to own this money for as long as possible and I have other assets, so this is my college work money that I want to see grow for evah.

Please let me know anything, I love to learn!

Best

-George
