I was offered a position in my company yesterday after applying and having four interviews. It is a business analyst position, and I work in business operations currently. They told me I would be working over some days to finish projects and such when needed when I asked about overtime.

Employees with the same title at my company make between 69k-94k according to Glassdoor- but I was informed today that this is more of a junior analyst position, but titled as a business analyst. The national average junior analyst salary is 64.5k.

I sent in a counteroffer for 64k, which is a 10% increase to my actual annual earnings with PTO of 58k. It is also 7% lower than the lowest reported salary for this same title in my company. The original offer was technically 10% to my base pay, but I'd be working similar hours without getting compensation for the OT. With my OT accounted for, their original offer was only a 4.8% increase to my earnings.

Do you think I asked for too much?
