We got married at the end of September. We have different tax advisors. We are working on coordinating that better. We had talked about it and agreed to file as 'Married Filing Separately'. I file my taxes. She has her appointment, and files her taxes. Then I ask about if she had my SSN for her forms, and she said they didn't need it. So we pull out the documents, and hers has 'single' checked.
Where do we go from here? A co worker told me you can file single up to 6 months from being married, but I would think we would both have to file the same way.
