So this is a question I’ve been asking around quite a bit these days. I’m a 25 year old guy, I’m currently working two jobs and I have a little over $4000 saved in a savings account that has a .50% APY. Now I know that this isn’t that much money but it’s all I’ve been able to save thus far (It hasn’t been a full year yet since I started working these two jobs). I have no debt to pay off, I’m currently living with family so my rent isn’t that big of problem nor is my utility expenses, so I have a bit of leverage when it comes to investing, the question is— where do I invest and how?

I’m no financial expert and to be completely honest I have 0 knowledge on how these investments truly work, but I’ve been reading a lot of financial articles and investing books just to give me an idea on how it’s like. The reason I want to start with just $1000 is because if anything goes wrong (which I’m hoping nothing does lol) I at least have the remaining $3000 saved up in a secure place. If there’s anyone out there that can give me some tips or pointers on where to start off, I’ll greatly appreciate it! Thank you for your time.
