We moved here in 2005 and the previous homeowner planted a row of 12 spruce trees in the backyard which is next to a busy street. Problem is he planted them way too close and now 16 years later these spruce trees are starting to thin out. They developed a condition called cytospora canker which is untreatable.

Our dilemma is: A. Do we start removing them slowly and replant over time? If we do this we lose ALL privacy from the busy street behind us. Or B. Leave the spruce trees as is because what if the next homeowner doesn’t like what we replanted? We would go with arborivitaes, etc....whoever buy our home can decide on how they want to change it.
