by doing this simple gesture you are capable to recover all the heat of the water in your dwelling thus save a bit on heating... once the water get the same temperature as the ambiant temperature you can get rid of it, this can take few minutes but it is not a very cumbersome thing to do... and on the long it can add up to make everyone consume less energy and save more $$$
