Hey everyone, I bought a new house in November and we have a 5 car detached garage with two apartments above. No one is currently living in either but about to move into in February. I received my first bill and the electric company said I used 2,300kwh and the only thing on in the entire building turned on is baseboard heaters in the apartment set to 45 degrees.
I had an electrician come out today to test the breaker to see what was drawing so much electric but nothing had a big draw. We are puzzled to why it would cost so much for electric on this building with no one even living in it yet. When the electrician did the load test he told me it was around 24amps going through the entire breaker being used currently.
After the electrician left I called the electric company to see if they could test the meter but have read it’s not likely that so not sure what else to do.
Any help or advise is much appreciated.
