Just moved into a new place, though a basement apartment again. While its MILES better than my last basement apartment, there are still a few places that are lit poorly or not at all.
The kitchen was pretty bad but I got some floor lamps second hand that make it better and the bedrooms at least have windows so during the day they're ok though still pretty dim at night.
But the hallway and the under stairs pantry/storage area are quite dark and don't have handy outlets or are too short or narrow for floor lamps.
I thought about getting rechargeable LEDs but it seems most chargeable or battery operated ones are pretty low in lumens. Plus for the hallway, I'd need ones that are either motion sensitive or have a remote if I place them on the ceiling etc.
I'd like the bedrooms to be better lit at night too but I don't think I want to own half a dozen floor lamps so maybe I should just deal with it for now.
What have been the best frugal ways for you to get more light into dim apartments?
