I like working on little visual side projects and I decided to compare the costs of living in Austin vs San Francisco. I dove deep on a couple helpful websites including Numbeo and Smart Asset to pull cost of living and tax information and what surprised me was the enormous difference in costs between the two cities.

Of course I already knew that Austin had lower taxes and a generally lower cost of living - but we're talking an almost 35% decrease in grocery costs, a nearly 60% reduction in child care costs, and most importantly a 50% reduction in price with respect to a pint of domestic beer.
