I have a large gallery wall in my home filled with pieces of art that make me happy and/or mean something to me.
Something I've done a lot in the past few years is find digital art I really like and pay the artist for a digital copy (try to buy from them direct, if I can't, then Etsy).
Get the art printed locally, frame with a find from the thrift store, and voila! Beautiful and inexpensive art.
Most pieces end up costing $20-50 depending on the size/artist's price.
