This is my first time on this subreddit but money has gotten tight for my partner and I recently and I thought I would share one of the biggest cost savings I've found.

Cleaning concentrates from our local hardware store.

Here in Australia, it's Bunnings, a national chain. I bought 1L of 'Spray & Wipe' concentrate for $8.50, and it makes 60L.

So I decided to compare it with supermarket brands and the price difference is insane. Every supermarket has its price listed at 24c per 100ml, or $2.40 per litre.

$8.50 divided by 60? 0.14 cents. That's right 14 cents per litre.

So buying the concentrate and mixing it ourselves makes it 94% cheaper overall. This is for every cleaning product they sell, some with different ratios. Bathroom cleaner? $8.50 for 60L. Oven degreaser? $8.50 for 20L. Floor cleaner? $8.50 for 60L.

It's nuts that we used to buy just the cheap brand from the supermarket. Never again.

Edit: Oh right the spray bottles! $10 for a 1/2 lite spray bottle with a rubber grip and colour coded nozzles so you know which one it is. They are hard, durable plastic, almost opaque but you can just see the colour inside. Measurements on the side for mixing, everything.
