Hi,
Around three weeks ago, my wife and I purchased a dining table set from Ashley Furniture (in the store). It was delivered today, but it's the wrong item. My wife was saying that from the moment they opened the door, but I told her we'd go back to the store to straighten it out. Apparently that was a mistake.
The original sales agent was not there, so we spoke to another agent. When she looked up the order, apparently the original agent had entered the wrong SKU (as what was on the order matched what was delivered). We showed her the correct piece, and she's given us a card to contact their customer care center. However, she said that we should have just refused the delivery, and since we didn't, it's unlikely that customer care is going to be much help.
Apparently the item is "on manifest", whatever that means, and I should wait to call customer care until tomorrow afternoon. Assuming that customer care doesn't want to resolve this in a satisfactory manner, what options do I have? Do I have grounds to file a complaint with my CC or with the CFPB, given that I accepted delivery?
Thanks.
