I went through years of sporadic employment. The longest I worked somewhere was 3 years (call center customer service), then I got fired in 2017. After that I tried finding admin/clerical jobs but always got let go within a month (swear to God I tried my absolute best to keep them!).
The last job was back in September as a patient care coordinator, but they let me go because "it wasn't a good fit" after a month. Now I'm working as a customer service assistant making $16.50 an hour in LA County.
My debt: ~$8k in school loans (CSUN grad with BA in journalism), less than $3k with AmEx (used credit to survive when I was fired in 2017), and $11,716.45 in car payments.
My credit is about 725.
I have ZERO savings, ZERO investments. I've got a couple thousand in my checking account and don't spend very much on frivolous things.
I tried finding similar posts on reddit and was depressed to find that either people without investments my age had a good income to make up for it, or they were just starting to invest in their late 20s, early 30s. Not one person was like me - low income, mid-30s with nothing in their financial portfolio.
Please offer advice on how to turn this ship around.
