Hi everyone! My wife and I were expecting our first child, but recently got exciting news that our expectations have been doubled - TWINS! I have perused some of the older posts on here about frugal ways to prepare for a baby, but wanted to see if anyone had any tips specifically for two babies. I have tried to simplify things down to the bare necessities of what babies need:
Food - My wife is already planning to breast feed as much as she is physically able. Saw a tip about asking insurance if they cover a pump - definitely going to ask. But in the event that she is unable to produce enough milk for two it sounds like the best you can hope for is coupons on formula. Any other tips here?
Sleep - We're expecting a little craziness at first and are willing to pay for the convenience of a double bassinet so that feedings can be a little easier in the early months before we move them to a separate room. Hoping to get a couple of cribs from friends/family or local Buy Nothing Projects. Anything else to consider for double trouble?
Clothes/Diapers - Many of you may cringe, but we plan to use disposable diapers mostly because there will be two and we think it will save our sanity. We haven't slammed the door on cloth eventually, but we will at least start with disposable (likely taking advantage of costco membership here). Clothes we plan to get second-hand from friends/family as much as possible and we're pretty sure that grandparents will fill in the rest so we will be buying minimal clothing. Any other places to watch out for good prices on diapers besides costco? I saw an ad a while back at costco for like >100 diapers for $22 so hopefully they run that sale again!
Any other general tips for twins are certainly welcome as well! Thanks!
