I'm not really sure if this is the right place to ask this, but I've tried finding answers on google and it hasn't been very helpful.
I moved to my current home 3 years ago and about a year after moving here I started receiving junk mail addressed to my deceased sister. I have an unusual last name, so it's very unlikely it's a coincidence. And then I started getting junk mail addressed to my (living) father, which essentially makes it impossible that it is coincidental.
My father lives across the country, and has never lived in my state, and my sister died 15 years ago (as a young adult) several states to the west of where I live. I have never put their name on any forms or anything, and I just cannot figure out how I would be getting mail for them.
It makes me worried that someone stole their identity. But I haven't received any bills or anything like that. Just mail about donating to St. Jude and credit card applications. (I checked my credit and everything looks normal.)
Do I just drop this? I've never had anything like this happen before and I'm not sure what the next steps should be.
