For most of my life, one could purchase leather boot laces made from oil-tanned, or latigo leather, cut from 11 0z. leather into strips roughly 3/32 inches square. I just bought a pair of leather laces that pulled apart while I was lacing them into the boot. they were dry, and fragile, when I got them. Any sources?
