I recently stained my pine stairs with stain/poly combo. I was pretty dissatisfied with the results and even sanded a few steps down and tried again. I'm still not at all satisfied with the results and was wondering what my options are. It was very tacky and hard to work with and only a few steps actually came out well.I am really not looking forward to sanding everything down again to start over with a separate stain and separate poly application; which is what I see is usually suggested because it seems like these combo stains are pretty notorious for ruining projects, especially for non pros like me. I was wondering if I could use a dark gel stain instead of sanding everything down, thats a little darker than the stain I used to get things looking at least presentable. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/32qayzn
